Why is wearing Silk clothes preferred for doing Pooja (worshipping)?

Silk-Clothes-are-preferred-for-Pooja-Science-Behind-Indian-Culture

Silk clothes have the capacity to attract and store electro magnetic energy. With the friction between the body and the silk clothes, electric energy is produced, which gives rise to electro static attraction. This energy, according to shastras, would act on the mind of the devotee. It is also said that the vibrations, which are generated while worshipping, are also stored by wearing the silk clothes. The external clothing, which prevents the loss of these vibrations, would work on the mind to sustain the much needed concentration. It is also said that any worship, without concentration is useless.

Hence All over India, silk clothes are preferred during Poojas, be it a Maharashtrian lady in Ganesh Puja, or a Bengali lady in Durga Pooja or a Gujarati lady in Laxmi Pooja during Diwali and so on!!!

  1. In the same way married Indian women wear toe rings and silver anklets to energize their body by activating the corresponding nerves by wearing these jewellery. There is so much of diversity in India but each custom has its own scientific value…

  2. However, silk was not known to India in Vedic times. It comes from China. As per Wikipedia "The Emperors of China strove to keep knowledge of sericulture secret to maintain the Chinese monopoly. Nonetheless sericulture reached Korea with technological aid from China around 200 BC, the ancient Kingdom of Khotan by AD 50,[15] and India by AD 140.[16]" So silk was an AD 140 addition to India. It was not used for 1000s of years before that, and in Vedic times.

  3. Does that mean that the poor who cannot afford a piece of silk …are not in their pure form of bhakthi ??

One needs to have a pure heart of bhakthi …what’s got to do with will or wool ???

  4. I meant to say , whats got to do with silk or wool ? Its all a question of affordability …n the most affordable will say …wear silk with gold ….there will be more energy …..so on n so forth …the rich n richer can go on adding many things …!

  5. Wear whatever you may, one should be a good receptor from within, intrinsically. Wearing a particular type of fabric is all a matter of affordability. And Nature, will not discriminate among the “have and the have not”. Therefore, if you are intrinsically a receptor of all that good around, in terms of vibrations, energies or conduct, you will absorb it whether draped in silk or cotton.

  6. wow if thats a fact I would give my exams wearing silk for extra concentration. stop making up facts dude, ancient indians didnt even had silk

  7. I still don’t understand why do people were silk clothes during Pooja, some people are pure vegetarian but they don’t think how many silk worms are killed to make an silk outfit.

I personally prefer to go with regular cotton saree
